These are incidents I’ve covered, with my commentary and links to the original posts, reporting, and related resources.

Who is most often exposed to police dogs? What kinds of calls lead to attacks or shootings? How often are warnings given? What happens after severe injury? Which agencies release records? Which policies change, and which do not?

WHY do police keep killing our dogs?

I started examining these cases as a dog trainer. I kept seeing ordinary dog behavior treated as a deadly threat.

And the more cases we investigated, the harder it became to separate what was happening to dogs from what was happening to people.

We need to question the culture and power structures that make this possible.
