How many dogs are shot by police in America every day?
The honest answer is: nobody knows, and that is part of the problem.
A widely cited estimate is roughly 10,000 dogs every year, about 25 to 30 every day.
But police departments generally aren’t required to track or report these killings, so the true number remains unknown.
Imagine accidentally entering the wrong alarm code in your own home. Police are alerted, but your family immediately reports that it was a false alarm.
Officers arrive anyway. One climbs over your fence and shoots both of your service dogs.
That is what happened to Ciroc and Rocko.
Does it look like either of the dogs in the video “charged” to you? 🤔
