Three horses got loose. Two came home. Police shot the third.
Her name was Lacy. On October 7, a Shawnee, Kansas, police officer killed her in a field behind the police and fire stations.
The city says she posed a traffic risk. Her guardian, Jenny Haynes, says that doesn’t make killing her necessary.
