A guardian’s mistake does not justify police killing a dog who poses no immediate threat. Agree?
Police came because of a barking complaint. Eight-month-old Alpha slipped outside, and a @miamidadesheriffsoffice officer shot and killed him.
Some people will say his guardians should have grabbed him or kept him inside. That may be true. But police are entrusted with lethal power precisely because they are expected to make sound decisions under pressure.
A dog getting loose should not be a death sentence.
