They said this officer’s bodycam battery was dead, and that dashcam somehow also “failed”… But fortunately, a private drone caught the truth.

Brad Brock called 911 after intervening when he believed a woman was in danger.

When Inkster Police Officer Montreal Clary arrived, Brad’s dog Moose was calm. He was sitting nearby, greeted another person, and then approached Clary with the same relaxed body language.

Instead of creating distance, getting back inside his patrol car, communicating with Brad, or reaching for ANY nonlethal option, Clary shot Moose four times. Moose later died at an animal hospital.

A federal jury found that Clary violated Brock’s constitutional rights and awarded $450,000, including $200,000 specifically intended to punish Clary.

Yet… he remains with Inkster Police and is now listed as its training coordinator.

Tell @inkster_police to stop treating ordinary dog encounters as justification for deadly force – BUT do not mistake accountability for one officer or one department as systemic change.

This is not about one officer failing. It’s a system that protects and reproduces this same violence hundreds of times a day, all across the country.

We need community response systems that send trained, unarmed people equipped to actually help and deescalate in these situations… not armed police who are trained to perceive ordinary behavior as a deadly threat.
