This happened in Waco, Texas. An officer shot Finn, a ten-year-old Lab mix who later died. His family sued. The appeals court said Finn’s family “did nothing wrong,” but dismissed their claims because governmental immunity shielded the city from that lawsuit.
The government should carry the cost of its mistakes.
