You can replace every officer in that group chat and still leave the system that empowered them untouched.
Accountability has to mean taking power away from the institutions that enable abuse. Cut police budgets. Fund housing, care and unarmed crisis response.
UPDATE, OCT. 19: CMPD has identified seven officers linked to the texts. Six have resigned, including one in August. One remains suspended without pay pending Civil Service Board review.
