Max and Nala in Palestine

A dog approaching someone is not, by itself, evidence of an impending attack.
And when an officer’s fear gets priority over everyone else’s safety… what does “public safety” even mean?
Max and Nala were killed by Palestine, Arkansas officer Harold Holland while he was there as Haley Smallwood’s ex-husband collected belongings.
Six children were also inside the home.
The bodycam shows Haley reaching toward Max right before Holland fires.
We need to question a system that gives armed officers more protection than the families who they’re actually supposed to protect.
Would you feel safer with this officer in your home?
